You may remember my exchange with Rep. Charles B. Rangel last year when I questioned his earmark for $2 million for the Charles B. Rangel Center of Public Policy.

Today, the Washington Post reported on a letter writing campaign Mr. Rangel has engaged in, soliciting contributions from corporations and foundations for his Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Policy at the City College of New York.  Furthermore, these letters were sent on Congressional stationary to leaders throughout the business community, flaunting the fact that he is Chairman of the powerful Ways and Means Committee.

Rangel has been soliciting donations from a variety of business leaders many of whom have business interests in the decisions of his committee, which has broad jurisdiction over tax policy, trade, Social Security and Medicare.

Chairman Rangel has also managed to secure two Department of Housing and Urban Development grants totaling $690,500 to help renovate the college-owned Harlem building that is slated to house the center.

That’s almost $3 million of your tax dollars, so Chairman Rangel can build a Monument to Himself.

Ridiculous.

I have a tribute to the Chairman here in the smallest room of my apartment. It's next to my sink and shower.

Kimberly
Kimmy, You reduced the discourse to that level. Many others have attempted to engage you on policy debate, but golly gee, Kimber is no where to be found.

Bottom line-- you are a drive-by poster, and when serious questions and rebuttals are presented, you tuck tail and run.

God, I can't wait until this election is done and your troll days are over.

Oh, and yes, you come off just stupid enough to make us wonder if you truly can walk and chew gum at the same time.

Now run along, I just read somewhere Karl Rove whispered 'water is wet,' no doubt you will be needed to enlighten us to the opposite.

Race for the Robert Byrd trophy
I guess Sen. Rangel is simply trying to live up to his idol Sen. Byrd's example - how many things in West Virginia are named after that distinguished gentleman?

Kimmys trademark
Without fail good ol' Kimbers manages to change the subject to something wholy irrelevant. Guys, don't waste your breath, the Kimbecile does this on almost every thread. Never addresses the subject, always with the "don't look here, look there" routine.

You gotta wonder if someone over at the DNC or KOS gives these folk a website assignment - "go to Townhall and hang around until one of the bloggers posts, then dive on as quick as you can and say something stupid to distract the serious people away from the real story."

Anyone else notice how quick the trolls get in with their comments. For a website espousing ideas they hate, filled with people they obviously despise you've got to wonder what kind of mentality it takes to want to sit around all day and night waiting for every blog post just to be able to spew the same junk over and over again and be relentlessly ridiculed by more serious folk.

Power and Money can corrupt the best!
Chairman Rangle, so highly regarded, has shown his self interest to be above the interest of Americans! Again we witness how power and money corrupts! If a "rich" man is in Office, it's the POWER he craves, if not rich but is a "powerful" politician, then it's the MONEY he lusts for! Sad and usually true! Our Government leaves much to be desired. Always has, always will!

Louisiana Cleaning Up
I am a Texan who lives on the border of La. and get LA radio and local tv stations.

Louisianins are cracking down on politicians that help themselves before the people..

The people stopped a 300% payraise for state politicians by a phone call and letter writing campaign to Bobby Jindal the new Rep. Governor.

It seems he made a deal with the lawmakers to allow themselves raises if they would pass some of his proposals..The people stopped him amd he had to veto the raises.

He tried the "good ole boy" way as with LA past politicians and it didn't work.

Who to thank? Moon Griffon the state's conservative radio personality.

This is "WE THE PEOPLE" at it's best.

I agree with you 100%. Townhall is Kimbecile's 'assigment.' Not to change OUR minds, but to influence the casual reader who may have found this page via Google. She writes here to influence them. That is why her crack-pottery can never 'just be ignored.' It must be refuted without fail every single time. Giving Kimmy the last word could actually influence those who haven't been paying attention.

Nothing like Obfuscation
So Charlie Rangel's self-serving monument building is just fine with Kimberly, because big bad W spent a ton of money on Iraq.

What's that? W can't spend a dime unless Congress grants him permission. Say again? The Pelosicrats are funding Ehr Bush's warmongering?!?

Next you'll tell me that only this historically-hated, pork-loving, Dem-led Congress stands in the way of gas price relief for the working families that Bush is trampling in his illegal war.

This is all very...
