According to a report published today by The Hill, a Capitol Hill Newspaper, presidential candidate Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) has requested nearly $2.3 billion in federal earmarks for 2009.  That is almost three times the largest amount any Senator has received in 2008.

The amount requested by Clinton for 2009 far surpasses the $387 million secured by Senator Thad Cochran in 2008 (R-MS).  As the Ranking Member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Cochran was the leading recipient of earmarks last year.

Clinton’s opponent Barack Obama and presumptive Republican nominee John McCain both have made it clear that they would not be requesting any earmarks in 2009.

And yes, Senator Clinton did vote in favor of Senator DeMint’s (R-S.C.) earmark moratorium, along with Senators Obama and McCain.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...
Shoeless John is proposing a larger federal role in healthcare programs. Yeah, I know "more market oriented". It's still a massive expansion of the nanny state.

We
already have a president porker. Under Bush the National debt has risen $5,000,000,000,000. And it's still rising. The dollar our currency is being destroyed and the economy is in shambles held together with government corporate welfare.

And some people actually think hey got a tax cut from this president when in fact all he did was take out a huge loan and backed it with our children's future as collateral.

The sad thing is you would think as fiscally unsound as it is to borrow so much money you would at least think you'd be driving a nice car and living in a big house so to speak. But no one can afford to drive their cars, the roads are crumbling and people are losing their houses. The chiclens have come home to roost on years of Reaganomics and massive republican spending.

Republican supply side econiomics is a disaster. We learned that when they led us into the "Great" Depression and now stupidity reigns once again and we are repeating history.

It would help of you targeted your arguments at the real culprit: big government liberalism. What the Bush administration practiced was the opposite of supply-side economics. It's YOUR team that has led to this disaster. Like Carter, Bush may be a born-again Christian but he is no supply-side conservative.
