Gas is approaching $5 a gallon, we have nearly a half trillion dollar deficit, unemployment has risen to 5.5%, and we just voted on whether or not to celebrate the end of the Revolutionary War.

I don't think any further comment is needed.

What were the debating points?
That we celebrate our surrender and finally withdraw our troops?

AMAZING
Man, I can hardly wait for the next revolution to start to set ourselves free of these clownish tax tyrants. Talk about a waste of reproductive matter.

Hey John
Why did you vote against benefits for all the veterans of your district?

Isn't congress
good at naming Post Offices and other important stuff like naming streets in every city in America after MLK or Mandela?

It is the Dems primarily that have given us $5/ga gas, with help from non conservative Reps. The Reps, as poorly as they have done over the last 8 years, are not primarily responsible for high gas prices or extreme environmental laws that have prevented drilling for oil in the U.S. and off our shores. At times like this, I bet lots of folks are wishing they were correct that we went into Iraq for oil. If we had, we'd be paying much less at the pump. :)

Didn't the the oil companies report recording breaking profits a couple months ago? Hmmm, I wonder how that is....Maybe it is because we are paying record breaking prices for gas. It would be nice if cities had better transportation services, like city buses. Laguna Beach has a city bus tranportation and in the summer a free shuttle.

Erm ...
Some people don't even think you should celebrate the Declaration of Independence:

Chris Satullo's argument doesn't make sense, because if you accept his premises, then all the more reason to celebrate 4th July as a beacon of hope.

Hey I'm British! Celebrate away!
