Last night, Republicans walked off the House Floor after Democrats changed the outcome of a vote after the final tally had been called. And this was not just any vote. The vote would have barred illegal immigrants from receiving food stamps and subsidized housing. Republicans had just enough votes to pass the motion, and we won the final vote 215-213.

That should have been the end of it. But not under the Pelosi Congress.

After the gavel had fallen, Stockton, California Freshman Democrat Jerry McNerney (CA-11) changed his vote to oppose the motion, and even though the vote was closed, they allowed the outcome to go the other way.

Last night’s walk-out didn’t happen just because of this one vote. The Democrat’s agenda is so liberal and so out of touch with the American people, that all year, they have not permitted debate or objections on legislation because they don’t want the American people to see what they’re doing. Nancy Pelosi believes that the politics of San Francisco and America are the same. They are not.

As the Majority party, they have the right to pass legislation. But they don’t have the right to suppress differing opinions and disregard the outcome of elections. That’s un-American, un-democratic, and just plain wrong.

The House is currently shut down. I will keep you posted.

RAS DEM/REP numbers
The gap between the number of self identified Dems and Reps has been closing in the RAS poll. There are only about 4+% more Dems now. The immigration fight helped the Reps. The number of self-identified Dems has been falling for months to a new low this month.

The number of Independents is at a new high.

Banana Republic
Apparently if the final vote is not to their liking, Pelosi and cronies don't mind changing the outcome.

Nothing like the President, Huh?
Bush signs into law bills that haven't passed the House and the Republicans don't complain.

Things don't go their way and they raise holy hell.

Tom Delay holds things open so that he can get the votes he needs.

The issue is bizarre, with even constitutional scholars saying they could not think of any precedent for the journey the budget bill took to becoming a law. Opponents of the budget law point to elementary-school civics lessons to make their case, while Republicans are evoking an obscure Supreme Court ruling from the 1890s to suggest a bill does not actually have to pass both chambers of Congress to become law.

"We believe that the law is constitutional and that this is yet another political attempt by the Democrats to stop us from cutting spending," said Ronald D. Bonjean Jr., a spokesman for Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.).

No problems here?

How about clarifying THOSE things for us Representative Campbell?

Heaven save us
from Pelosi and Reid. Both are so without ethics that they should be recalled and unseated immediately. Never have I see such a display of incompetence and lack of ethics.

house vote ?

Yep, it looks bad for the Dems. Let's see what actually happended after the investigation. I have read so many versions, I do not not know really who was right and who was wrong. Though if the vote had been called, one would think that would be it.

And I don't like the fact that the existance of the vote itself may have disppeared from the record; but then again, it supposedly takes time for it to appear in the record, so maybe it is there.

But to be fair, Republicans were as bad if not worse to the Dems when they were in power. They would not even give Dems a couple of hours to see the bills that they were going to pass.

Since our representatives don't seem to be able to create fair rules, maybe we need to do it for them, so all sides are given adequate notice, and an adequate hearing on the debate.

What a bunch of children.

Congressional fraud
The Republicans are no better that the Democrats, both wanted to give Amnesty to Illegal aliens, now they still want to give them food stamps, and other benefits. While legal American citizens are denied Medical Care, Illegal Aliens swamp our medical centers, demanding Free Medical Care, which they get so the Illegal Aliens don't spread deceases among the legal population. It's time we deport all Congress and the Senate to Mexico. Only a few of these people care about Citizens of the United States. Do gooders that have sent Trillions of our dollars to foreign nations, to help them. There is discussion about our WAR, we do not have a WAR, we have a police action. In a WAR you go in to WIN, we have no intentions to WIN. Bush had no idea what a Pandora's Box he was opening, so now we cry about the 3000 + killed in the Twin Towers, and the Pentagon. Now over 3300 + service persons killed, thousands with permanent injuries that will debase their entire life, others with families in financial destruction as the family member is sent to active duty over and over. When are citizens going to cry "STOP THIS"?. When you elect Don Cordell for President in 2008, this will end, or else. I'll put half of this bunch in Prison for treason. Remember that swearing in ceremony where our elected official promises to uphold the Constitution, and Bill of Rights and to protect our nation. Never happens. Now it the time to make a major change, elect an Independent candidate for President. Save America, before we become the North American Union, with no borders. DonCordellforPresident.com
