I find that often times political cartoons can express a sentiment just as strongly as words do, and occasionally I post them here for you to see.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, this is worth at least 50 billion more…

Congressman
Congress will be deliberating a Oil Company Windfall Profits Tax bill today. Why not talk about that? How about rallying the troops to swamp the Hill with phone calls telling you guys that we don't want even higher oil prices AND SHORTAGES? Who do you think is going to pay these taxes anyway? And by making oil even less profitable for the oil companies, you guys will be further reducing the incentives and capital for oil companies(energy companies actually) to drill and invest in alternatives. Another example of the problems of big government. We should have an across the board 10% cut in government that could probably be funded by grounding the government. No more flying! Also, every single bill that gets voted on should be read aloud on the floor before any vote is taken!

Hardly....
Considering the fact that this President has created the largest debt in our Nation's history, and remembering that we are flushing $5,000.00 every SECOND down the toilet of Iraq, I hardly think the GOP has any credibility on fiscal issues.

Nice try.

No offense...
But Republicans criticizing a budget for being fiscally irresponsible would be a lot like Hugh Hefner criticizing a guy for womanizing.

BTW: Obama's fund raising
Obama is on target for raising over $100 million in June. How is McCain doing? He has to turn to big corporate donors via the RNC since his own whiz-bang fund raising is sputtering. I don't know why. I keep sending the RNC Bush pesos as fast as I can print them.

Here come the politicians...
...Big Government greed they exemplify...looking for their piece of the action. Hey, lefties, if you hated the Repub budgets, what's to defend on the even worse Pelosi/Reid budgets? For once be consistent in your logic. Tell the politicians to be less greedy and run the gov. with LESS.

Worth a 1000 words

A picture IS worth a 1000 words. Below is the picture that tells us of the Republicans complete lack of credibility on the subject of the budget.

You, if you are a Republican, and you are complaining about possible budget concerns that a democratic administration might present you look silly in light of the graph below. If yoor main issue is the budget and you are still planning on voting for the Republicans you've even lost credibility with the man in the mirror.

Life under Obama. what a damm joke.

Great Cartoon and True
With Obama leading health care socialization, you can bet that the leaky boat will stay at the bottom.

muirgeo, too bad you don't understand why your curve looks like that. The down points are high taxes, no wars, and inflation, not Democrat good bookkeeping. In fact, the highest drop was during Republican House from 1994-2000. You forget that in 2000 you guys ran the Senate also; the increase in those years could have been blocked by your precious Mr. Daschle and your Democrat friends, but he was the one who insisted on a major increases in domestic spending in 2000, 2001, and 2002. Spending went down under Clinton because he was raping the military with his "peace dividend".

I also note that you didn't put the updated graphic here (http://zfacts.com/metaPage/lib/National-Debt-GDP-L.gif) which shows that your precious Democrats have not done one iota to try to reduce the debt. There are liars, big liars, and statisticians is what I was taught. Present all the data next time you want to play games; Republicans are not ignorant like your friends on Kos.

Notice that, of the Dems, only Charlie Rangold has been honest enough (or probably politically secure enough) to blueprint the tax increases in store. The Democrats have built spending by about 10% since they took over the Congress (was $2.9 billion + Iraq, now $3.1 billion + Iraq). No attempts at fiscal savings under Pelosi, either. So, we are now back to Mr. Campbell's cartoon and its truth.

Bush Legacy
It's odd. Repubs complain about budgets but they broke from their constituents and spent like Dems when they had the chance to do otherwise. Dems complain about Repub budgets while failing to acknowledge their own egregious spending habits are little better, if at all. All the while, no one talks about fixing one of the real problem which is completely unnecessary spending (farm bill, Senate dining facilities, earmarks, etc.). Oh I know, they all pay lip service to it but neither party actually reduces it. There are so many things we could do today to fix this problem (it really is fixable) but can't because the foxes guard the henhouse. More Dems won't solve it and neither will more Repubs. I think I will be forced to vote Libertarian and hope we actually get some new party blood in the process cause the current two parties are not up to the task as evidenced by their proposed solutions.
On another note, Kimberly, the pennies out of our hands will be pennies out of your hands also. While I totally agree spending is completely out of control, your party doesn't offer as a solution decreased spending, but only taking even more money from the public that is already struggling. Somehow, I don't see that as a solution at all, just continuance of the failed practices that got us here in the first place. Hope you have a big piggybank.
