Today, I alongside Reps. Paul Ryan, Jeb Hensarling, and Michele Bachmann published an article in the New York Post, about our AMT Repeal & Taxpayer Choice Act.

As I am sure many of you agree, the AMT is Washington’s most recent example of the Will Rogers adage: “Be thankful we’re not getting all the government we’re paying for”.

Campbell's Examiner blog bit
Dear Mr. Campbell,

I read your "Blog Bit" in today's Washington, DC Examiner (which is delivered to my front door) and was much annoyed by your assertion that Rep. Rangel is building himself a "Monument to Me".

You are foolish and too partisan for your own good. Why don't you recognize that Rep. Rangel is a patriotic American who has risen through the ranks -- climbed and beat off opponents and now as a black man who suffered through discrimination and also served our country in the Korean War is now the Chair of the House Appropriations Committee.

That is quite an achievement and even you (if you have suffered at all in life) should recognize it. And if the man after all this work wants to spend $2 million or so of our money to build a library then why not have it named after him?

I am sick of politicians like you who don't understand that politics is a vainglorious sport and also a public service. Rangel has been a dangerous public servant but he has accomplish some things and now is simply indulging in the vainglorious aspect of politics.

What is so hard to comprehend about that? What is so wrong with that -- it happens all the time and is the name of the political game?

Why don't you grow up and see that human beings and politics will never be perfect. The best we can do is accept this and concentrate on the bigger issues: creating a more efficient, accountable, and business-friendly government that has barely any regulations for business and free health-care and good schools for all.

Regards,

Alfred Monken

Fair Tax
Rep Campbell,

First of all thank you for fighting the good fight on earmarks. You and the few others need to keep the pressure on.

If you're not already a sponsor, you need to consider the Fair Tax for true tax reform. Letting people give the government their hard earned money on their terms could be the greatest shift of power back to the people that we've ever seen.

I am sure you are familiar with Congressman Linder's bill. Please support it.

Why now?
Rep Campbell,

Why didn't you make this proposal when the Republicans controlled Congress? We would have had a "snowball's" chance then....

Ditto the comments above regarding the good fight on earmarks! Never give up....
