Christmas Tree Bill

Last night, the omnibus appropriations bill passed the Senate.

This bill is simply exploding with earmarks.  The last count I’ve heard was about 9,000 where 115 of them, totaling $117 million, were added to the Homeland Security section by itself.  It’s no shock that these earmarks are slated to go to Members in vulnerable Congressional Districts.

We call a bill like this a “Christmas Tree”.  The analogy is perfect because this bill is decorated with ornate accounting and legislative gimmicks and offers an abundance of gift-wrapped presents for Members.

This is not Fiscal responsibility.

All of congress should be in jail for
larceny or Treason against the Constitution.

Sorry John, but you are part of the problem too. All of you are. It is probably too late in the game to get Congress to do the right thing, and by that I mean the Constitutional thing, and tear our government down. I don't mean use a knife to cut out the bad parts, I mean use Paul Bunyan's axe to chop off over 2/3 of the government. Most departments of our government are not mandated by the Constitution and are therefore unConstitutional! It is very clear about the Feds having only jurisdiction in areas specifically enumerated in the Constitution, all other matters are left strictly to the various States!

If Congress cannot mend its ways, I' afraid that it will engender another revolution and the outcome of that will probably not be as good as the first revolution's outcome was.

The monstrosity of an "energy bill" just signed by the traitor in chief demonstrates exactly how far our government has drifted from sanity and representative government towards tyranny. Yes, even with 535 + 1 supposedly representatives, you have still created a tyrantical government that thumbs its collective nose at the people of this great land. Don't like illegal immigrants, too bad. Don't like being told what to eat, how to live and what to say, too bad! You've even tried to legislate "proper thought"! Enough already!

Very soon, a great horde will rise up and yell (as in the movie Network), I'm mad as Heck and I'm not going to take it anymore. Then it will be too late for Congress to fix it. Better get to work!
