Yesterday afternoon, the Senate approved a bloated $3.1 trillion budget, $21 billion above the President’s request.  Despite the looming entitlement crisis and a deficit of nearly half a trillion dollars, the budget does nothing to address these issues, not to mention that it allows more than 20 million taxpayers to be burdened by the alternative minimum tax (AMT) after next year, it fails to renew President Bush’s tax cuts, doesn’t even point out the need for earmark reform, nor does it take into account the more than $50 billion dollar GI Bill, which will likely be approved by Congress sometime next week.

If it wasn’t apparent before, it is crystal clear now; the current majority is more willing to pass on existing problems to the next administration and Congress rather than work towards a solution now.

You're like a five-year old being caught doing something bad, and justifying it by 'Sally did it too!'

Grow up.

hmmmm
Both political parties are big spenders, just get use to it and watch over the next few years as taxes go up and you sit there and wonder "why" you are going under.

Ever look at the SS, Medicare, Medicaid spending. Just give it about another 4 years and the costs of these programs are going out the roof and Congress is going to be looking for lots of money. And where are they going to look? Any guesses? So get ready to go bankrupt. Just like the nation.

"You tell me what about the budget doesn't pass muster and maybe we can talk."

Ethanol subsidies, automatic COLA adjustments in every federal giveaway program, The Department Of Education are just a few which spring to mind. A 35-40% reduction in the Federal bureaucracy would be a nice start, under a program which kept people who actually work for a living (Border Patrol Agents, Parole Officers, Park Rangers, the military, product safety inspectors, ect) and concentrated on deinfesting our government and its budget of the useless parasites who fill giant office buildings to no good purpose. We can also stop talking about turning one seventh of our economy over to these incompetent idiots (health care).

Pass It On, Baby!
"If it wasn’t apparent before, it is crystal clear now; the current majority is more willing to pass on existing problems to the next administration and Congress rather than work towards a solution now."

If they're reading the same newspapers I am that means that they're willing to pass the problems on to Obama's administration where their party is in control of both houses of Congress. How stupid can you get? Willing to pass on a huge problem TO YOURSELF? Actually they're even stupider than that; Bushs reluctance to flush the nation down the toilet wont be shared by Obama who will get carpal tunnel syndrome signing new spending schemes into law. We will solve America's oil shortage by burning huge piles of our worthless currency to keep warm in the winter.
