I just got off the House floor, after debating the Fiscal Stimulus Package.  I think you will find my objections enlightening.  Click below to view the video.

Hugh "Baghdad Bob" Hewitt
Florida is still way too close to call, but Hugh Hewitt gives himself a back door (just in case):

"Even if the combination of the low-blow and the Crist-Martinez endorsements allow John McCain to eke out a narrow win tonight, headlines like this one assure Romney of an open field over the next week, as does the building backlash against the McCain tactics. (See Rich Lowry's assessment below.)

Expect the Golden State to be the decisive contest on 2/5, and tomorrow's debate to be anything but dull." Hugh Hewitt

Does Hugh mean this Lowry assessment?: But [for Mitt Romney] to speak for 50 minutes or so and not to talk about the Iraq war before a conservative audience at a crucial moment in that war is bizarre and just wrong and almost offensive in my view. This doesn't seem like an oversight. He went out of his way to check off every conservative box—except the one that is politically risky at the moment. http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=NTU0NzEyZjIzMTI5Y zZiYjgxMjY3MTM4YTIzMjY4NTA=

Or this GOP California Primary Poll (the RCP Average has McCain up over 8 points now in California): http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/ca/ california_republican_primary-258.html

Of course Hugh is right, if Romney loses Florida, McCain's numbers will drop. How could it be otherwise? And New York, New Jersey and all those other delegate rich states that Romney has no shot in (even if he wins tonight) who cares? Mitt will still win. Hugh said so.

Joe Campbell's 3 Minutes
are worth listening to.

We need Congress to use their '3 minutes' in a similar way. Please continue your fight to help the US become fiscally sound.

GO MITT!

John Campbell 2012
John, while I would miss your fine service as my house rep, I urge, no -- demand, you run for president in 2012.

No way
Sadly, there is no way the honorable and, frankly brilliant Representative Campbell can ever become President. Far too much common sense -- his ability to see, understand, and deftly explain within a few minutes (his related appearance on Washington Journal is especially worth watching) the real problem behind our financial woes and some possible solutions make him ineligible for any elected office.

Really, who voted him in? Those are the people we should work toward deporting! Going around electing reasoned, capable, and courageous people to serve in Washington... what's this country come to?

God bless John Campbell and those who elected him. Now if only the others who truly have no business being elected to anything would listen to him.

Austrian Economists
have rightly diagnosed America's fraudulent, predatory monetary system as the prime cause of the fabled "boom-bust" cycle that drags more of middle America out to sea with each tsunami of false prosperity.

With due respect to Rep. Campbell, so long as the State sponsors a monopolistic, interest bearing credit cartel (The Federal Reserve), the counterfeit secretions of which the peaceful and productive are intimidated into circulating as currency through legal tender laws while servicing with income taxes (State ownership of workers' labor), not a damned thing of lasting significance will change in D.C. Welfare and warfare will race neck-and-neck to reduce the honest worker to poverty.

While I commend John Campbell's denunciation of this faux-stimulus plan, I urge him to take positive action by joining Ron Paul in his efforts to restore to U.S. financial markets the stability of freely-chosen currency, which entails the liberty to reject Washington's perfidious policies.
