On Thursday, I will officially roll out my “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is” Act, in a press conference in Washington D.C.  This bill will amend the Tax Code to allow individuals to make voluntary donations to the federal government above and beyond their normal tax liability, and actually put a line on the IRS tax form to make it easier to make donations.

Last week, Presidential Candidate Senator Hillary Clinton stated that "We didn't ask for George Bush's tax cuts. We didn't want them, and we didn't need them."

On Monday, the Wall Street Journal printed an editorial that proclaimed:

“If the former first lady feels so strongly that she should pay more taxes, we suggest she lay off the middle class and instead write a personal check to the U.S. Treasury for the difference between the Clinton and Bush tax rates."

It’s time Senator Clinton and other high-profile liberals like Senators Hillary Clinton (NY) and Barack Obama (IL), Warren Buffett, and Barbra Streisand who have publicly stated that Americans should pay more taxes, to put their money where their mouth is.

HOT Tax
I heard about the HOT Tax during the presidential elections in 2004. HOT stands for Higher Optional Tax and would provide citizens who were outraged at the Bush tax cuts an opportunity to pay more income taxes. I look forward to hearing Senator Clinton's comments on your new tax code amendment.

What do you want to wager
there will be a deafening silence from the liberals on this one?

They're only "liberal" with other peoples' money, after all!

I Wish
I wish the Clintons would put their mouths where their money is...in the Grand Cayman Islands. They've fessed up to the American money they've shifted offshore but who knows how many bribes were tendered offshore and stayed offshore in the Caymans or elsewhere. This is stunning when you imagine that there are dolts stupid enough to believe them when the Clints and their fellow Dems promise to stop jobs from going offshore. Dem voters will have time to think about it when they're sitting for endless hours in the packed waiting rooms of our Federal Health Care System.

After a few temper tantrums....
...whining that the Republicans are wasting valuable legislative time to make a political point (something they would never, ever do I'm sure) ..... some Dems will have no problem 'voting' to support this bill. What you won't see is any of them 'contributing' a solitary dime on their own tax forms above the minimum amount they can get away with.

Anyone remember the charitable 'tax deductions' that Hillary claimed while these two leaches were still in Arkansas? It was for Bill's old underwear.

Money
The Clintoneestas have made over 109MILLION since leaving White House. What is more funnier is that they made all this money and then claim that BIG Corporations should have their money taking and allocated, well whats good for the goose ought to be good for the gander, why dont the CLINTONs whom by the way always bash the RICH REPS and all their money give about half of theirs to the Government for redistribution like they claim Corp. ought to do. Im sure the Clintons dont have investors in the money but Corps do.

Isnt it always the DEMS who claim to want to take care of the people but want our money to do it with. Dont make since to me why we would give them anything.

The people dont spend the money the CONGRESS does so why do we need to help them recover from their mistakes wqith our money. TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION.

DEMS=MORE TAXES

Quick edit - just one!
You wrote, "who have publicly stated that Americans..."

My edit would have read, "who have stated publicly that Americans..." Yours split-the-predicate. Not THAT big of a deal.

They will all keep their money
This has already been done in Massachusetts. One can pay the normal tax rate of 5.3%, or you can volunteer to pay the higher tax of 5.85%

In 2006, 1,200 taxpayers chose to pay the higher tax. That's a tiny fraction of one percent. Liberals don't voluntarily give away their money, they take it from others!

Their 'contribution' comes in the form of activism and moral grandstanding. Let others pay for their programs, it's the socialist way.

Nonsense...
Obviously, everyone knows rich liberals don't mean a word of their election year rhetoric. This will accomplish nothing.

The federal socialists (both parties) are not going add a voluntary line to an already voluntary assessment of income taxes. These cretins will simply raise taxes and then this country will really see a home mortgage crisis. All the families currently enjoying low taxes, which enable them to manage their budgets, will suddenly find themselves without the cash flow necessary to maintain their home mortgages, and the daily increase in gasoline, heat, electric and food prices.

The smart play will be for every single American to simply stop paying their mortgage and their credit cards. The funny money bank system will collapse overnight. Fear not, they cannot repossess every home. Best of all, the pooblik-skools will run out of cash from no escrow property taxes and the government won't be buying votes with promises of a bail out.

And another thing...
Instead of mailing a check for your tax payments, you should invest in a package of screws and u-bolts. Mail those with your incomplete tax return.

Who the heck do you think these people are anyway?

Paying Fair Shair
The political pundunts look more like the old scam artists. They put the monety under one of 10 cups and move it around. When the end they point to a cup and tell you that is what you get in return for your contribution.

Now what is under the cup? 1) Nothing that benefits me? 2)Something for their cronies 3)About 14% of what was paid in tax. or 4) all of the above.

They use to arrest scam artists. Now it is politically correct. And think about it if I have to add a qualifier to an absolute word, it means it is less than the absolute.

Phenomenal Idea!
This is a great idea- all the people devoted to addressing all the social issues this country has, can help pay for their stupid ideas. Let's throw their money at social problems and see if the results change. If the Obamas, Clintons, Pelosi, Rockerfellers, Kennedy's, Winfreys, Bloombergs, and the rest of the caring elites and movie stars passed the hat and chipped in, I'm sure life would be much better for those of us who weren't born with it. They can lead by example...

Obamas Change from Middle-Classness
Since Michelle Obama has advocated avoiding "Middle-Classness," here's their opportunity to do good with their excess money. They can keep enough to be "poor" and give the rest away. The Obama's surely can talk the talk, but can the Obama's walk the walk? I doubt it.

Generous Clintons
Don't be so harsh on Hillary deducting Bill's underwear. Now that they've come into real money they gave over ten percent (10.092%) to charity.

Yep all $11 mil went to the Clinton Family Foundation. How much salary do you think they take for managing the foundation?
