Congressman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) Chairman of the Republican Study Committee just offered an amendment for a one year moratorium on earmarks For the FY 2009 Budget.  It was quickly defeated along party lines. The vote was 16 ayes 21 noes, with 2 members not voting.

See below for a video of my argument in favor of the moratorium.

Earmark Moratorium--Defeated
This was a fine example of protection reporting. Why was the names and their vote listed? To have a article on an important topic and not list who was at fault is just bad reporting. It is the facts we need to be informed not just the sound bites.

Thank You

its sad how we call it pork
why cant we have the balls to just call it our damn money ,,, there spending the money we have to send to that damn black hole of a government in DC.

they dont care a ratts as#s of sending and promises billions of dollars to countries we cant even spell that hate our guts and they say its in good will. Hmmmm how nice of these as#ses in washington. so were having a slower economic down turn so like a family will they slow down on charity and tighten the home budget and make sure they use common smart wisdom in there spending. Hell No they have no accountability. Our gutless GOP leadership is as bad as the liberals.

we need to wake up and do a Huge lawsuit for the accounting of all our hard earned and wasting taxes that get sent to that worthless place in DC . I wrote the GOP saying myself and my family will not send money , donate time , make calls , knock on doors, natta !

Now I feel like im going to puke !

Pete
it is well known that the US House GOP leader, Rep Boehner of Ohio, has never involved himself in taking "pork", so don't damn the good along with the bad.
I am not disagreeing with your disdain of Washington spending, spending, spending; it only gets more harmful each year, and has undone the strength of our nation.
You, and the rest of concerned America, will need to work from the bottom up for change; you and yours should be pushing the Idaho State government to demand a Constitutional Convention. A rework of our government recognizing the inherent dishonesty and lack of patriots of our time, as opposed to the time of the Founders which lead them to trust in loose wording which has been abused, is the only thing that will force a change backward to the time of lesser Federal influence in Citizens' lives and a smaller central government.
